Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens

1989.jpg (33306 bytes)

Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens is a majestic 50,000 square foot, 65-room country estate located on a beautiful 70-acre garden lanscape on Akron's west side. Helen Keller, Will Rogers, President William Howard Taft, and other famous people visited Goodyear founder F.A. Seiberling in his Tudor Revival home. Seiberling built the grand estate between 1912 and 1915 to meet the needs of their active lifestyles and large family. The name Stan Hywet is Old English for "Stone Quarry."
