  • Akron’s youngest residents are most heavily concentrated near the center of the City, particularly in areas southwest of West Exchange Street, the University of Akron, the Elizabeth Park area and Central East Akron west of Arlington Street.
  • Areas with median ages in the 31-42 year range are most typical of Akron, and are predominant in most neighborhoods outside of the central city.
  • The Central Business District and Northwest Akron have the highest concentration of population with median age of 42-74 years. Northwest Akron in general has an older population than the rest of Akron, with no census blocks with median ages under 30 years.
