| (10/08/09) - As part of the American Recovery
and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) the Ohio EPA has designated the following project within the
City of Akron as eligible for ARRA funds. This project is administered through the state
Water Pollution Control Loan Fund (WPCLF). Public comment is requested for the proposed
project listed below: Sanitary Sewer Reconstruction
2009 - This project consists of reconstructing approximately 1.11 miles of existing
sanitary sewers. The project is located in the City of Akron and the project limits are as
follow: (1) Bellows Street from Stanton Avenue to approximately 370 feet to the south,
(the remaining sites will utilize the cured in place pipe (CIPP) trenchless pipe renewal
process) (2) 13th Street from Indian Trail to Witner Avenue, (3) Tampa Avenue from
Cordeilia Avenue to 30th Street and from 28th Street to 26th Street, (4) Stetler Avenue
from Ellet Avenue to 523 Stetler Avenue, (5) Diagonal Road from Copley Road to
approximately 380 feet to the south, (6) Berwyck Drive from E. Market Street to
approximately 505 feet to the north, (7) Artman Avenue from Kildaire Drive to
approximately 795 feet to the east, (8) within an existing sewer easement from Chatham
Road to approximately 470 feet to the south (in the rear yards of lots bounded by Chatham
Road, Ely Road, Southwood Road, and Hampshire Road), (9) Rack 34 from the rack to 200 feet
to the north, and (10) Rack 14 from the rack to 315 feet to the north, (11) Balch Street
from Woodland Avenue to Grove Street, (12) within an existing sewer easement from 432 Noah
Avenue to 609 Storer Avenue, and (13) Westwood Avenue from 105 Westwood Avenue to 142
Westwood Avenue. The project cost is estimated at $1.6 million and is expected to begin
construction in Spring 2010. ARRA is funding $800,000.
