Akrons tax filing deadline is Tuesday, April 17th. To assist Akron tax
filers the Income Tax Office will be open on Saturday, April 14th, from 8:00
a.m. to 4:30 p.m.. and both Monday and Tuesday, April 16th & 17th

All Akron residents born on or before December 31, 1988 are required to file a city
income tax return. Retirees whose only source of income is from Social Security, pensions,
interest or dividends need only file a one-time exemption form with the Income Tax
Division which is included with the individual form or can be downloaded online.
Taxpayers may continue to use the traditional tax returns or may download a form from
the Income Tax Division website if they so desire. Forms can also be requested by phone,
