Nurses working in the City of Akron
Department of Public Health, and several hundred mostly white collar employees have voted
to approve contracts with the City. Deputy Mayor for Labor Relations, James Masturzo
announced the agreement this afternoon after the voting and what he called
"overwhelming" approval by both the Civil Service Personnel Association (CSPA)
and the Akron Nurses Association.
The agreements both include pay raises of 2%-1%-1% for each year of the contract and
modifications in the employees prescription drug plan.
The Akron Nurses Association represents 21 public health nurses. CSPA represents 443
workers for the City of Akron.
