The Job Center
The Job Center brings the workforce-related services and
educational programs of twenty-one partner organizations together under one roof.
Located at 1040 East Tallmadge Avenue in Akron, The Job Center provides a link to
training, education and employment opportunities to individuals at any skill level and a
pre-screened applicant pool, employee training programs and job-posting services to
regional businesses. 
The Job Center is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from
8:30AM until 4:30PM, and Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30AM until 7:00PM. Services are

Enterprise Ohio Network
The Enterprise Ohio Network is a statewide association of
54 public two-year colleges and university branch campuses. Since 1986, these schools have
been partnering with businesses, organizations and public service agencies and making
learning in the workplace count. The Enterprise Ohio Network offer many benefits
including:
Jobs Challenge: Jobs Challenge makes training more
affordable for small business; enhancements also make Ohio more competitive with other
states.
Targeted Industries Training Grants: The Targeted
Industries Training Grants are available to eligible companies through the Enterprise Ohio Network campuses. In Akron,

Ohio Investment in Training Program (OITP)
The Ohio Investment in Training Program (OITP) provides
financial assistance and technical resources for customized training involving employees
of new and expanding Ohio businesses.
OITP provides up to 50 percent reimbursement to fund
instructional costs, materials and training-related activities. There is an emphasis on
manufacturing and selected employment sectors that have significant training and capital
investment related to creating and retaining jobs.
OITP also supports community economic development efforts
through job creation and retention. The result is increased employee productivity,
improved labor/management relations and a highly skilled labor pool.
The regional OITP Coordinators walk companies through all
phases of the application and approval process, at no cost to the business.

Ohio Training Tax Credit Program (OTTC)
The Ohio Training Tax Credit Program (OTTC) will provide a
wide range of selected Ohio employers with a tax credit of up to $100,000 a year to help offset the costs of training current workers.
Ohio employers may receive tax credits to offset the cost
of training their current workers. These credits are available through the Ohio Training
Tax Credit Program. The Credits may be used to pay for training materials, travel and
wages of trainer and trainees.

Tax Credits
The Work Opportunity Tax Credit Program and Welfare to Work
Tax Credits are federal tax credits for employers, encouraging them to hire job seekers
from ten targeted groups.
Employers and employees need only to complete two easy
federal forms and, in some cases, provide supporting documentation for their particular
target group.
