The Bath-Akron-Fairlawn JEDD consists of
approximately 300 acres of business-zoned property located in Bath Township, including
areas along Akron-Medina Road (SR 18), Cleveland-Massillon Road, Embassy Parkway, Ghent
Road, and Springside Drive. Most of the property in Bath JEDD is developed, but some
vacant land does exist and is primarily zoned for office or research use. Bath Township
does not provide for industrial zoning.
This JEDD became effective in 1998 and operates under a three-party
agreement between Bath Township, the City of Akron, and the City of Fairlawn. Properties
within the JEDD have access to water service from Akron and sanitary sewer service from
Akron or Summit County. An income tax of 2.25% is levied in the JEDD.
