Entrance Criteria

For entrance into the Akron Global Business Accelerator program, entrepreneurs must have a business with a commercially focused product, service or technology. Periods of tenancy differ from company to company. Tenants are initially offered a one-year lease with two, one-year options. Tenants are expected to "graduate" to the Greater Akron Business Community within three to five years of joining the Accelerator program.

Admission Guidelines

The Akron Global Business Accelerator and its parent, The Akron Development Corp., are nonprofit organizations supported by The City of Akron and The State of Ohio, and has as its mission to assist early stage technology-based companies. The Board of Trustees has established a number of policies to ensure that the Center's services will be fairly distributed to those who demonstrate the potential to grow and contribute to the employment and economic advancement of the community.

It is a policy of the AGBA that a completed application form and business plan be submitted to the CEO and approved by The Tenant Committee.

1. The business plan must address:
• Company organization
• Proprietary technology
• Products and services
• Marketing and sales strategy
• Manufacturing methods
• Management capability
• Sources of capital
• Financial plan and three year forecast
2. Future financing requirements
3. Business plan goals will be reviewed semiannually by the CEO.

Business plans may be reviewed annually with the Tenant Committee at a meeting of the Committee and the CEO.
