The City of Akron requires that all property owners or owner’s contractor that are connecting or tapping into the main line sanitary or storm sewer located within the right-of-way or easement have an inspector on site during the installation process.

• The owner or the owners’ Contractor is required to purchase a right-of-way or easement permit. The permit can be purchased at the Plans and Permits office located on the 1^st floor of the Municipal Building located at 166 S. High St.

• After the purchase of the right-of-way or easement permit, the owner or owners’ Contractor must notify the inspector from the Sewer Maintenance division 24 hour prior to excavation at 330-375-2666 to schedule the inspection.
