| KENMORE II NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT AREA
The City of Akron will begin a Neighborhood Development
Program in the Kenmore II Area on May 18, 2000.
This project, funded by the federal Community Development
and HOME programs, offers grants, loans and technical assistance to residential property
owners to repair housing code violations, code enforcement of all homes in the area, and
improvements to the streets and sidewalks.
Over $6 million is anticipated to be spent on housing
rehabilitation and public improvements in the Kenmore II Neighborhood Development Area
through the project’s completion in 2004. Over 600 homes will be affected.
A meeting for the public is planned for Thursday, May 18 at
7 p.m. at the Kenmore Community Center on Kenmore Boulevard.
