TRAINING AND EEO The Training/EEO Division offers training in a wide variety of areas and serves as the internal function that reviews, recommends, and interprets personnel related State and Federal laws for the organization. Primarily, the divisions responsibilities include:
Training Programs: An electronic training brochure is available for managers to use as a resource for staff development within their department. The programs were designed for experienced managers, seasoned and new employees. A current list of classes can be found below and on the Citys Intranet.
EEO Programs: The Training/EEO Division developed an internal complaint form to manage employee complaints of harassment and discrimination. This form was created as an alternative tool to assist managers in documenting as much incident-related information as possible when a complaint is filed. In addition, the City of Akron has formed a complaint team. This team is responsible for investigating and resolving internal complaints by City employees. The Citys policy is to investigate all complaints thoroughly and promptly, and to take immediate, appropriate actions. The team consists of a representative from the Law Department, the Labor Relations Department, and the Personnel Department. EEO Documents:
