The week’s events
start on Friday, August 22nd as we "Make the Connection" Bridging Urban Places
with Green Spaces at the Towpath Bridge opening and continue with many urban adventures.
See your City from a new point of view.Events include rides about town, scavenger
hunts, bike movies, Bicycle Ed Classes, Bike to Work Days. Free Bicycle Valet parking is
available for the WONE Rock the Lock Concerts, and the Farmer’s Markets. Try a combo
trip with CVSRR Bike Aboard trips, and Metro RTA is offering free rides to those who board
the bus with a bicycle. Cap off the week with Metro Parks STOMP rides on August 30th.
This is Akron’s way of joining in the National Bicycle Week that occurs in May of
each year. Organizers of this year’s Akron Bike Week 2008 include University Park
Alliance, Metro Parks, Serving Summit County, Akron Bicycle Club, the University of Akron,
Cascade Locks Park Association, Downtown Akron Partnership and the City of Akron.
