(06/18/07) - Judging by the crowds so far, this year's Rock The Lock
presented by WONE has been a huge success, and this week's performers will not disappoint
at Lock 3 Park on Main Street in Downtown Akron Friday, June 22.Bringing a unique blend
of blues funk, soul and rock is the Colin John Band at 7 p.m. Since 1993, CJB has
been delighting fans around the world with its down-home brand of rock and roll.
If you are a fan of the "Thin White Duke," prepare to be amazed by the
evening's headliner at 8:30 p.m. and again at 10. Enjoy Cleveland's own Diamond Dogs: The
Sounds & Vision of David Bowie.
Concertgoers will be amazed at how Diamond Dogs musically channels and visually
re-creates Bowie's vast career. Come hear Bowie classics including Ziggy Stardust, Young
Americans, Ashes to Ashes, Let's Dance, China Girl, I'm Afraid of Americans and more.
This summer Lock 3 Park offers everything from classic rock, to country, blues, folk,
funk, jazz and gospel. It's all conveniently located in the heart of the City of Akron
Downtown on Main Street next to the Civic Theatre at 200 S. Main St. Parking is free at
all city- owned parking lots and decks. Admission is free. Gates open at 6:30 p.m.
