THE U.S. CONFERENCE OF MAYORS HOSTS
FOURTH OHIO EDUCATION ROUNDTABLE
Ohio Mayors and Superintendents Take Action on School Finance |
| Washington, DC - For the fourth time in just
over a year, The United States Conference of Mayors (USCM) President and Akron (OH) Mayor
Don Plusquellic will convene a roundtable of urban mayors in Dayton, OH, to discuss the
mayoral role in public education. As part of the Conference's Mayors' Initiative for
Leadership in Education (MILE), this session will provide a unique opportunity for 11
mayors from Ohio's largest urban centers to engage in a discussion with their school
superintendents to focus on one of the most critical issue facing urban America-school
finance and its impact on education. The Ohio Mayor's Education Roundtable is the only
one of its kind that brings together mayors of a single state for a series of discussions
concerning public education. This fourth roundtable will be the first formal dialogue
between mayors and superintendents on school finance. The Ohio Roundtable is made possible
by grants to USCM from a grant from the Wallace Foundation, as well as grants from the
