Burt Salzman, owner of the new Dave's Supermarket on East Exchange Street; Tanya Phillips,
customer; (R) Grady Appleton of the East Akron Neighborhood Development Corporation at the
grand opening of the new store in October. Dave's is this neighborhood's first grocery
store in 10 years and was a collaborative effort of EANDC and the City of Akron. Both
worked for years on funding assistance to bring the city's near east side a grocery store. |
