National Night Out Against Crime
Banish Crime, Light up the Night
With a Crime and Bug Repellent Yellow Bulb

The City of Akron and the Community Relations Unit of the Akron Police Department is partnering with local community groups to fight crime in our city during the 21st Annual National Night Out Against Crime.

Residents are asked to show support of this initiative by turning on a yellow outside light the night of August 3, 2004.

Akron residents who would like to participate can pick up a free yellow light bulb at any of the City of Akron’s 13 community centers, at the Akron Police Department, Community Relations Unit, 217 S. High Street, Room 402 or at the Customer Service Office, 1st floor of the Municipal Building, 166 S. High Street. Light bulbs are also available at East Akron Community House, 550 South Arlington Street and at the Mountain of The Lord Fellowship/Charisma Community Connections, 1477 Copley Road, in west Akron.

To receive your free yellow light bulb you must be an Akron resident and show proof of residency. Only one light bulb per household.

On August 3rd turn on your yellow lights to repel crime and also repel bugs all summer long.

For information on where to get your free yellow light bulb, call the Community Relations Unit of the Akron Police Department at (330) 375-2390 or The City of Akron Customer Service office at (330) 375-2320.
