CITY TO RESURFACE WEST EXCHANGE STREET
The City of Akron is preparing to resurface West Exchange Street from Hawkins Avenue to Maple Street. The project also would include the construction of curb ramps from Hawkins to Maple and from Locust Street to South Main Street in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

The proposed project will not impact any historical districts, cultural resources, suspect hazardous waste sites or ecological resources. During construction, temporary detours may be required. Pedestrian and vehicle access to buildings and facilities shall be maintained all times. Project construction is scheduled to commence in summer of 2002 and be completed by late fall of 2002 at a cost of $900,000. The City of Akron encourages residents with questions about details of the resurfacing project to call the Akron Engineering Bureau at 330-375-2381 no later than January 16, 2002.
