Re:
S. Union & Carroll Street Closures

Beginning Friday morning, July 27, 2001, S. Union Street from Buchtel Avenue to Vine Street and Carroll Street from Wolf Ledges Parkway to Spicer Street will be permanently closed as part of the University of Akron Campus Development Guide Plan. The University plan is to create a more unified, user- friendly, aesthetically appealing campus.

Motorists traveling north and south around the campus are encouraged to use either S. High, S. Broadway, or Arlington Streets for their north-south corridors (original release with map 164 pdf). University traffic will use Exchange Street, Spicer Street, Buchtel Avenue, University Avenue, and Wolf Ledges Parkway.
