CITY TAX FILING DEADLINE APPROACHES

The filing deadline for 2000 city of Akron Income Tax returns is April 30, 2001. All residents of Akron who had taxable income in 2000 are required to file a return. For the convenience of taxpayers, the Income Tax office will be open Saturday, April 28th from 9am - 3pm. The office is located on the 11th floor of I Cascade Plaza (the National City Bank building). Parking is available in the Cascade Deck, or at meters on the street.

If you did not receive an income tax return packet from us, or you have questions regarding your tax return, you can also reach us be calling 375-2290, or by e-mail at incometax@ci.akron.oh.us. We have a large amount of general information and tax forms available at our web site and give you the option of Web filing until midnight April 30^th. To qualify for this service, you must:

• Have been an Akron resident for all of 2000
• Have income totaling more than $600 that was all reported on W-2 forms
• Not be filing for a refund
