Fit for Duty Program Since
1991, this program has evolved from basic Health Maintenance Requirements (HMR) checks
that included blood pressure, cholesterol, and body weight screening, to a full range of
health promotion services. We have assisted with the development of the new physical
fitness policy implemented in 1996 and continue to work closely with the administration,
FOP, and the Fit for Duty Committee to deliver timely and appropriate services. These
include:
- Fit for Duty Officer of the Month - Selected by the
Fit for Duty Committee
- Uniform Ribbon program - Awarded to Officers who have
demonstrated a long-term commitment to maintaining their fitness.
- Health and Fitness Tips
- Fit for Duty Report in the FOP newsletter
- Physical Ability Testing
- Physical Fitness Testing
- Policy monitoring and record keeping - This includes
the blood pressure, cholesterol, and body weight screening and intervention program
planning.
